Care For Your Kitchen

A bespoke kitchen by Complete Kitchens is designed and built to last, with exceptional quality at its core. To help keep your new cabinetry and benchtops looking their best for many years, we recommend the following care and maintenance guidelines.

Doors | Panels

Laminate

LAMINATE is durable, but like all materials it requires care.

Cleaning & Care
  • Wipe with a clean, soft damp cloth for everyday cleaning.
  • For light stains, use warm soapy water or a mild detergent (eg. Mr Muscle, Dissol, Nifty Solvent, Flash Liquid, Windex Extra Strength).
  • Avoid harsh, abrasive, acidic, or alkaline cleaners.
  • For textured or embossed finishes, a soft brush (like a toothbrush) may help.
  • Do not use wax or polish on laminates.
  • For acrylic laminates, avoid cleaning for five days after removing the protective film, as the product is still curing.

Warning: Avoid rubbing too hard—this may create a permanent shine.

Thermo-Formed (Vinyl Wrap)

Thermo-formed doors are MDF substrates wrapped in vinyl through a heat and vacuum process.

Cleaning & Care
  • Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, then towel dry.
  • For stubborn stains (e.g. ink), use methylated spirits.
  • Do not use abrasives, solvents, or cream cleansers.
  • Avoid direct contact with heat, steam, or fumes from ovens, cooktops, and dishwashers -these can cause delamination or discolouration.
  • Always operate the Rangehood exhaust fan when cooking.

*Warnings: High temperatures and cooking fumes will cause damage to surrounding cupboard doors and panels unless an efficient exhaust is used.

Two Pack Paint (2 Pac)

Two Pack finishes are a premium choice, offering a sleek seamless look, excellent durability. They are also easy to maintain and minor damage is simple to repair.

Cleaning & Care
  • Wipe spills immediately with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
  • Do not use abrasives, solvents, or cream cleansers. Paint thinners are not recommended.
  • Avoid sharp or hard objects that may chip or scratch the surface.
  • Minor scratches can often be repaired using a matching touch-up paint, which is usually supplied upon installation. If required later, suitable products are readily available from Bunnings or professional paint suppliers.

Solid Timber | Timber Veneer

Timber is a natural product that will absorb moisture and expand or contract. Excessive heat may cause shrinkage. So don’t be alarmed if your timber doors move.

Cleaning & Care
  • Use your rangehood while cooking, and ventilate rooms with evaporative cooling.
  • Timber will naturally change colour over time (reds darken, light timbers gain honey tones).
  • Apply timber polish (Marveer, O-Cedar Oil, or Goddards Cabinet Makers Polish) every three months, especially on end grains.
  • Wipe spills promptly with a warm damp cloth, then dry with a soft cloth. Clean grease after cooking.
  • Dust along the grain with a soft cloth to avoid scratches.
  • Avoid silicon-based polishes and waxes.

Bench Tops

With fabricated stone bench tops, including engineered stone, Marble & Granite, steel supports have been incorporated in opening apertures of your sink, hotplates, dishwashers etc. However, due to the reduced amount of stone left, the area immediately surrounding these areas are more vulnerable to accidental damage and/or abuse.

In general, DO NOT under any circumstances sit or stand on Stone Bench Tops. They are NOT unbreakable.

New Engineered Stone (Crystalline Silica-Free)

The new generation engineered stone is made from recycled materials and is free from crystalline silica, making it a safer, durable, and low-maintenance choice.

  • Highly resistant to stains from everyday household items.
  • Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, paint strippers, or oven cleaners.
  • If exposed to strong chemicals, rinse immediately with water.

For detailed guidance, refer to product care instructions from Caesarstone®, Stone Ambassador and WK Stone.

Natural Stone (Granite, Marble & Quartz)

Natural stone offers timeless beauty with unique colour, grain, and veining variations. Marble is softer and more porous than granite or quartz, and requires extra care.

Cleaning & Care
  • Wipe up spills immediately to avoid stains.
  • Reseal regularly (granite & quartz: yearly, marble: every six months).
  • Clean with mild soap and warm water only.
  • Avoid chemical cleaners.
  • Fresh marble stains can be treated with methylated spirits or chlorine – test cautiously, as chlorine may dull polished surfaces.

Please note:  Natural stone carries no product warranty, though some stonemasons may provide a limited workmanship guarantees. Please refer to our Natural Stone Disclaimer.
